CRESA (Credit Resolution Experts of South Africa) operates the website cresa.co.za. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. What information we collect
We collect the following personal information: your name and email address when you register, the content of experiences and complaint letters you submit, proof of payment documents you upload, profile photos and CV documents uploaded by job seekers, company details provided by expert registrants and business accounts, your IP address and browser information for security purposes, and voting choices on community polls.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to operate and maintain your account, publish your experiences on the platform where you have consented, generate AI-assisted complaint letters based on information you provide, verify EFT payments and unlock purchased content, send transactional emails relating to your account and orders, send job alert emails where you have subscribed, and comply with our legal obligations.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We share your information only with our technology service providers who process data on our behalf including our hosting provider and email delivery service, and only to the extent necessary to operate the platform. We may disclose your information if required by law or a South African regulatory authority.
5. How long we keep your information
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. Public submissions associated with your account will be anonymised rather than deleted unless you request full removal.
6. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information subject to our legal retention obligations, object to the processing of your information, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction. Proof of payment documents are stored in a private secure storage bucket accessible only to you and our admin team.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies necessary to operate the platform including session authentication cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
